| In 1994, a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization was formed entitled
the St. Ambrose Irish Dance Association, Inc. Volunteers of the organization
emanate mainly, but are not confined, to students, past students, parents
and friends of the already established dance classes operating under Cleary
Irish Dance. The primary purpose of the corporation is to stimulate interest
and to encourage continuous growth of Irish heritage, culture and tradition,
through the medium of dance and otherwise. To this end, the group hosts
an Irish dance competition annually, The St. Ambrose Feis. Additionally,
they have hosted ceilis (social gatherings) that provide a fun-filled evening
of family entertainment. More than anything else, the group has provided
a means of cementing friendships and camaraderie, welcomed many people,
and offered them a social life in a healthy environment while still strengthening
our Irish traditions. |
